Popular Taiwanese band Sodagreeb was forced to change its name to "Oaeen" due to a break with former boss Lin Weizhe. In May 30, Lin Weizhe suddenly announced that he would give up ownership of the tradeamark name. Lawyer Lin Fali posted last month (30 Sep) that the Bureau of Wisdom officially announced that the Sodagreen company had obtained the “soda green” trademark.
The band "Sodagreen" broke up with Lin Weizhe at the end of 2018. In April 2019, Wu Qingfeng, the lead singer of the band, received a letter of deposit from Lin. Soon Lin Weizhe filed false punishments, civil and criminal lawsuits against him, and registered trademarks for song names. "Sodagreen" finally announced the group name "Re-Dismantling" on July 3, 2020 due to copyright disputes, and officially announced that it would be renamed "Oaeen" to continue its acting career.
Oaeen sued Lin Weizhe in order to demand the return of the "soda green" trademark. Six members of the group including Wu Qingfeng in the first and second trials were all judged to lose the lawsuit glued. Just when the outside world thought that Wu Qingfeng and others could never get back the "Soda Green" trademark, Lin Weizhe suddenly announced on May 30 this year, "I have decided to give up the trademark ownership."
Lin Fali, a lawyer who has been defending and fighting for rights and interests for Wu Qingfeng and others through legal channels, worten that the Intellectual Property Bureau of the Ministry of Economic Affairs officially issued an announcement that the trademark rights of "Sodagreen" will be obtained by Soda Green Company from October 1st for a period of 10 years.
